What can I grow in Auk Mini?

Anything that sprouts and grows!

Herbs and salads grow particularly well, in addition to tomatoes & chilies.

You can use our Auk-certified seeds (tested and approved by us) or use your own. We don't want to "lock you in" to only our seeds.

You can plant the same in each pot or mix and match between the pots. A popular combo is 2 pots with basil and 2 pots with cilantro – but this is completely up to you :)

Seasonal plants (that need both summer and winter to flourish) are not very suitable for indoor cultivation (for example, blueberries or regular strawberries), but it's possible if you simulate winter for the plant.

If you're new, start off with herbs and go from there :)

When can I harvest?

Most herbs and salads are ready after 4-6 weeks. Tomato and chili typically 8-12 weeks.

Temperature is the most important factor – the warmer it is, the faster it grows. The ideal temperature is 21–27°C (and below 20°C the growth will be slow).

With most plants, you can harvest for months on end; some can even live for several years.

You get the best results by harvesting regularly (little-by-little) from the top-down. That way, you stimulate new leaf growth and keep your plants fresh and tasty!

How do I maintain Auk Mini?

You only need to refill water and nutrients, and harvest regularly

A crop in Auk Mini can last anywhere from 4-10 months, depending on the plant (arugula typically fades faster, while most herbs can live for a long time).

It's best to harvest little by little, so new leaves get exposed to the light and grow out. That way, you stimulate new growth and keep your plants fresh and tasty.

Starting a new crop is easy: Dispose of your old plants, clean your Auk Mini – and start back up!

We recommend using fresh coco fiber (€14) for optimal pH and oxygen, though old fiber can be reused. A refill package with both coco fiber and nutrients is only €35.
